From Dull Box Color to Dimensional Shine

Marie Ferro explains how she transformed a box color disaster from flat and dull to shiny and dimensional."Her hair had no dimension and color variation. It was a solid flat blackish tone with no shine, as the quality of store color is poor," explains Ferro.

First, Ferro used Malibu C's Color Prepare to clean the canvas.

Formula Goldwell Elumen:
Formula 1: AN@5
Formula 2: BR@6

1. Paint in the base color with formula 1.
2. Use back to back foils alternating formula 1 and 2. Alternating warm and cool tones gives the hair a more natural hue.
3. Use Goldwell Elumen color to weave in multiple tones of rich warm red undertones with cool dark chocolate tones. Elumen has a high gloss effect leaving the hair with an incredible shine.

The model for this hairstyle makeover had an oval face shape. "The design of her previous haircut was not flattering to her face shape, as well as the bottom inches of her hair were broken and damaged beyond repair," says Ferro. By cutting several inches off the bottom of her hair, Ferro created a much more flattering look to her model's face shape by not pulling the face down. Layering face framing layers created fullness around the model's chin and neck, balancing out and flattering her facial features.
